It's been a busy day.
The morning starts with a bank robbery. Which, Barry is so over bank robberies, especially when they involve metahumans. The twist today is, everyone in the bank is trying to kill each other when Barry arrives.
The effect doesn't last long, but investigating the scene as a CSI instead of a superhero a while later, Barry doesn't turn up any obvious causes; just witness reports of a red streak and the finding that a half a million dollars is missing from the vault.
Joe and Eddie are assigned to the case, and that would be fine except Eddie seems to have an axe to grind.
Eddie wants the Flash brought in as a public menace, and even goes to the captain about it.
The whole thing really bugs Barry considering Eddie is the one who shot him and Barry not only let it go, he even tried to defend Eddie's actions.
The good news is, Captain Singh turns Eddie down, and more, Iris gets mad at Eddie when she finds out. Which, of course Barry doesn't want them to fight, but, well...
Barry takes the bank robbery case to S.T.A.R. Labs and the team goes over CAT scans taken of the people in the bank. What they find is that the emotion centers of the brain have been overwhelmed in all of the people who were there.
It's a new one as far as metahuman powers go, and definitely dangerous.
"Anger can be a powerful emotion," Dr. Wells notes. "If this meta-human can engender irrational feelings of anger in his victims, he can do a lot of damage."
The team gets busy trying to determine how their new metahuman works and Barry leaves them to it; heading to meet with Iris who dropped a message for the Flash on her blog.
Alone with her in CC Jitters, hiding behind the mask and an altered voice, Barry talks to Iris as the Flash. She wants to warn the Flash about Eddie. Hearing her concern and the continued awe for the speedster in Iris's voice as she speaks, Barry can't help wondering for probably the ten thousandth time what could be.
As always, he has to go as a call comes in. Leaving Iris with what Barry thinks is a smooth line that the Flash would say, Barry runs to join up with the police who have located the signal on the tracer that was in the stolen money from the bank.
He's a bit too late. When Barry arrives the metahuman robber has already fled after using his powers on one of the officers to turn the man against the others. Barry manages to get everyone, including Joe, out of the way of the whammied SWAT officer's gun fire, but before he can do anything to keep the man from opening up with his shotgun again, a pair of arrows come flying in and take care of the brain-washed officer.
Turning to look for the source of the assist, Barry can't help but grin wide when he sees the Arrow standing by with his bow.
The man makes his exit like the badass urban ninja that he is and after Barry makes sure the police have their rogue officer in hand, he races to join the Arrow.
