Cisco is acting... weird. No doubt it's some sort of Milliways thing, but he seems fine enough, so while Barry will be keeping an eye on the situation, he's not going to panic just yet.

For one thing, Cisco seems to be okay with it (although Barry is sure that's bound to change once the man is back in his right head), and for another Barry has a lot on his plate already, and on his mind.

He's been in Milliways for what feels like awhile now, coming in just after the second face off (and defeat) with Tony.

At first Barry needed to rest up and heal, and then he decided to make use of this place to train and figure things out, but the longer he hangs around the more it feels like he's just hiding.

For all that he's spent time around Milliways, talking to people, training with X, and thinking about what needs to be done, it doesn't really feel like he's made much progress. Obviously he can't stay here forever, and when he goes back he needs to be ready. And so, for the first time, Barry is out to try taking the first steps toward seeing if the crazy stunt his team has come up with is even possible.

Considering that the goal is to generate a sonic boom, and the damage one of those would cause in a confined space like the garage, Barry has decided on the lake for his training ground. Yes, it's out in the open, and no, he doesn't have the suit, but he's made enough excuses, and with everything that's going on and waiting on the other side of the door he can't exactly count on there being time to try this before another match-up against Tony when he goes back. So… here he is, willing to trust in Milliways more than he has before.

In gym shorts and a sleek fitting compression t-shirt he's hoping won't catch on fire, Barry stands on the lakeshore, apprehension and hesitation knotted in his gut as he looks out at the path ahead.

There are a dozen different reasons for why he's nervous about this, but the biggest one is the simple fear, 'what if he can't?'

Obviously there's only one way to know and so, finally resolved, Barry settles into a stance, weight over his lead leg, one foot planted in front of the other. He breathes deep, drawing himself up while lightning starts to flicker in his eyes and then--

-- no boom.
