The last few days have been the most exciting of Barry's life. Bar none.
It started when he heard about a case in Starling City. The circumstances and description were a giant waving "something weird is going on" banner that flagged Barry's attention and he knew he had to hop the train and check it out himself.
His trip may have pissed off his boss (like, a super lot), and also his foster dad Joe (also a lot, given the reasons Barry went and the fact that his boss is also Joe's), but it was so totally worth it.
Not only did Barry get to work on a case involving a guy who was impossibly strong (like, rip through reinforced metal with his bare hands strong), but he also met, and saved the life of, the Starling City Vigilante.
(For the record he likes to be called The Arrow now, a fact Barry knows because he got to work with the man and his team in their secret hideout!)
Sure the guy was kinda TO'd when he first saw Barry in his… underground base? Secret lair? Arrow-Cave? And sure he was kind of a jerk, but Barry feels like Oliver warmed up to him in the end.
And if working with hooded vigilantes wasn't enough, Barry also got to work with the very pretty Felicity Smoak, who not only brought him into the fold when Oliver was in danger, but she also asked him to a party; and didn't mind so much when he stepped on her feet (God, he's such a terrible dancer).
Then there was the part where Barry used his forensic skills to help The Arrow track down the bad guy, and Barry left the vigilante a gift of a new mask which he's really hoping the man will use because, better disguise, but also, how cool would it be to know a hero was wearing something he'd made?
Seriously, Best. Trip. Ever.
Barry is on the proverbial cloud nine when he heads to the train station to leave Starling City, not even caring that he managed to miss his first train (again), or that he'll be getting chewed out from two-fronts when he gets back to Central City.
The only thing that could possibly make all of this even better is if he manages to make it to S.T.A.R. Labs in time for the Particle Accelerator to go on-line. He'll have to make a run for it when the train gets to Central City station, and fleet of foot he is not, but he'll keep his fingers crossed and hope for the best.
