And I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't trust you or your judgement. Or, no, I guess I did, but I was just lashing out. I do trust you. Even if, I admit, sometimes I struggle to read you."
He pauses, scraping a hand across the back of his neck.
"Hey, if you want to make yourself feel better by punching me in the jaw, that might even convince me you're not a nice guy. Win-win, right?"
