He ducks under the follow-up punch, although it's close enough to ruffle his hair, and lashes out in response -- a quick strike of his knife towards Robot Girder's neck. He doesn't expect it to do much damage if it lands, he just wants to test the robot's reaction time, and just how sturdy and flexible its joints are.
